Sarah's Top City Council Issues

Housing For All

All of Vacaville deserves safe and affordable housing. As your councilmember Sarah will advocate for senior and family housing. She will also advocate for first time buyer programs and pathways into home ownership.

School City Partnerships

Sarah brings decades of experience on local school and college boards. She knows partnerships with our schools are vital to supporting our students. With D4 having 2 of the City's 4 Title I schools, working with our schools is a top priority.

Good Local Jobs

All Vacaville residents deserve careers, not just jobs. With Sarah's experience working with labor and in higher ed she will make sure all residents have access to good jobs with benefits to support their families and their livelihoods.

A Voice for D4

District 4, for too long has lacked representation on Vacaville City Council. We have cracking streets, escalating crime, homeless in our creeks and the lowest number of parks per resident in the city. Sarah will fight for D4, to make sure we have a seat at the table and our voices are heard.

A Focus on Children

Sarah believes children are our future and one of our most important assets. She will work hard to make sure District 4 has the parks and amenities our youth deserve. Funding programs for children is one of her top priorities.

Balanced Budget

A key to a successful city is balancing our budget. That includes investing in our staff, saving for a rainy day and making sure budget priorities are spread evenly across all programs and departments. Sarah will work hard to bring in new revenues and balance the budget.

Traffic and Crime

District 4 has the highest crime rates in Vacaville. We also have some of the most dangerous streets and largest populations of homeless. District 4 deserves better and Sarah will work towards community solutions to make our city safer.

Civility and Respect

Sarah brings decades of elected experience to the Vacaville City Council. While other candidates talk about civility, their actions demonstrate something different. Sarah demonstrates respect for all voices and will bring a balanced and calming voice to our city.

Projects Sarah Supports in D4:

- Moratorium on new liquor, Tobacco, Cannabis, Quick Stop, Fast Food and "Check Cashers" in D4
- Completion of CalWALKs Safe Streets and Bike Trails Plan for Alamo/Davis/ Peabody corridor
- Redevelopment of Mariposa Neighborhood Center into new community center and park
- Redevelopment of shuttered Fairmont Childcare facility into new community center and park
- Completion of Redevelopment plan for Sierra vista park
- Creation of homeless action plan to address homeless and crime issues in d4
- Plan to hold accountable negligent landlords and predatory housing practices in d4
- Safe bike trail connectivity from d4 trails to job centers, downtown and parks and amenities
- fire preparedness and evacuation plan for d4 residents impacted by fire threat
- expansion of Vacaville Police Department District Captain program and community policing practices
